Within Best Ray project biogas technology plays an important role. Best Ray has signed a partnership with Camartec to strengthen the effectiveness of their Domestic Biogas Programme in the two Wards covered by Best Ray Project.
The TDBP aims at disseminate small domestic biogas plans in all Tanzania. The target of the programme is to have 12.000 plants to be installed by 2013. The main steps of the TDPB are:
The TDBP is a combination of capacity building efforts to train masons and economic incentive for beneficiaries.
Full information on TDBP can be accessible at the following link.
Since May 2009 Best Ray has approached Camartec (the chairing institution of TDPB) to include Ngarenanyuki and OldonyoSambu Ward into the programme and to enforce the strategy in those Wards.
In August 2009 six “fundi” selected by Best Ray have attended a training seminar in Tanga organised by Camartec and since September 2009 the “fundi” have started construction works in six sites to complete the first biogas plan of the TDPB.
Finally Best Ray project will add financial resources and logistic support for all new biogas plants that will be built within the TDPB.
The CERC will play an important part in the strategy. The population of Ngarenanyuki and OldonyoSambu will access all information about the biogas technology in the CERC and the financial incentives will be released by the CERC offices.
