The activities of BEST RAY - Bringing Energy Services to Tanzanian Rural Areas, are taking place in Oldonyo Sambu and Ngarenanyuki Wards (Arumeru District) North Tanzania.
Best Ray addresses the energy needs of the rural communities living in the northern sector of Arumeru District (about 39,000 people, mainly Maasai pastoralists and Meru farmers) with a focus on women (12,800) and children (13,500). The area (37,000 ha) neighbors the Mount Meru (m 4565) and Arusha National Park, that plays a vital role as water catchment in the semi-arid and densely populated environments of northern Tanzania.
